Below are a list of important links to sites beneficial to the college application process:
- Residency Determination Service (ncresidency.cfnc.org) → This needs to be completed in order for colleges to determine whether you’re in-state or out-of-state which determines how much you pay for tuition. This is very important and should be done first. Before you submit applications, it’s best to have this completed and have that RCN Confirmation Number ready.
- CFNC (cfnc.org) → Ideal site for researching, applying and paying for college. (Recently renovated so it’s very user friendly)
- Common Application (commonapp.org) → Common app is the site where you will create one application and use this to apply to multiple colleges. One of the most important sites.
- Free Application for Federal Student Aid - FAFSA (fafsa.gov) → Where you’ll go to apply to get money from the government for school. Opens October 1st.
- *The earlier you apply, the more money is available to possibly get and you'll receive your Financial Aid package from the school quicker.
- Collegeboard (collegeboard.org) → You can go here to register for the SAT, view scores, complete college planning steps, find scholarships and complete the CSS Profile (which is required by some universities)
- Coalition Application (coalitionforcollegeaccess.org) → Coalition is another application platform that some colleges use.
