The Institute for Future Agricultural Leaders (IFAL) is a one-week residential program designed for rising high school seniors sponsored through the North Carolina Farm Bureau. It will be held at North Carolina A&T State University on June 21 – 26, 2015. They are extending the deadline until April 27, 2015. Space is still available for qualified students. Students are exposed to the academic and research programs in the School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, and are familiarized with careers in the food, agricultural and environmental sciences. In addition, students gain experiences in leadership by participating in leadership training seminars, touring the N.C. General Assembly, meeting governmental officials, and visiting the N.C. Farm Bureau Offices. Please find attached the application form and the applications guidelines. Cunningham Research Station in Kinston is offering an internship position for students that have a strong interest and ability in science. Students will receive great exposure to researchers and other professionals, and will also work alongside staff in the field caring for crops and collecting data. They are looking college bound students that like science and will not be deterred by hard work outdoors in the hot summer. If interested please see Mrs. Tyndall by April 21st.
