Senior picture make-ups were originally scheduled for Monday, October 5th. However, now that LCPS is returning to school on the Plan B model, we cannot have over 50% capacity on the school grounds at any given time. Therefore, senior picture make-ups have now been rescheduled for Wednesday, October 28th. Stay tuned for more information from the photographer regarding picture details and sign-ups!

It's Your Time to Order!!! One of the best parts of becoming an upperclassman is earning the right to order your official class ring. You are taking on leadership roles and beginning to form the graduating class of 2022. While we know this fall is a little different, we do not want you to miss out on this time honored tradition. Please watch the short video below and use the order button to take you to the Jostens ring designer to create your customized class jewelry. Don’t know your size? No problem. Use the sizing guide on the website or place your order entering “size unknown” and Jostens will mail you a sizing kit. Jostens mailed out packets to each senior beginning last week, so be on the lookout for your package in the mail! Below is an email from Jostens regarding graduation items and caps & gowns. Please watch the video about use the order button to take you directly to your order page. The only required item you have to purchase is the cap and gown package if you are planning to participate in the graduation ceremony in May. If you are not planning to walk in the ceremony, please let me know as I will need to let Jostens know so they don't expect an order for a cap and gown from you. Each graduating senior participating in the ceremony will need to purchase a cap and gown - caps and gowns from previous years are not allowed to be used as the color could be off from year to year. Attached below is information about several upcoming ECU events that offer opportunities for high school students to learn more about ECU and their academic programs. If you are interested in Teacher Education programs at ECU, please attend one of their spring College of Education Virtual Preview Day events (flyer attached). During this live, virtual event, prospective students will meet faculty and staff from the ECU College of Education and learn about Educator Preparation programs at ECU. Participants will also receive information about Education Scholarships, the Education Living-Learning Community, and have an opportunity to ask questions. Due to the pandemic restrictions, LCPS College Night, which was planned for Wednesday, November 4 at Kinston Community Center, will now be virtual!! This Virtual College Exploration fair will be September 14-October 9. The four-week program consists of hundreds of opportunities for students to learn about the college search process and about many different colleges through panel presentations and information sessions. STUDENTS CAN SIGN UP NOW to hear from admissions officers, choose from 280 different presentations and information sessions, and learn more about a hundred different colleges from 26 states, Washington DC, and 4 countries! Students will gain a wealth of college knowledge, get exposure to a variety of colleges, and have the opportunity to ask questions of admission counselors, all in a safe, flexible, online environment. All high school students, parents, and counselors throughout North and South Carolina are all welcome to attend. Participation is FREE. Students should participate live so they can ask questions and interact with the college admission counselors. If students are unable to attend live, we still encourage them to register for the sessions they are interested in and recordings will be available later.

The summer program will run from June 15 - August 6, 2020. Teens must be in 9th-12th grade, have a minimum of an 85 scholastic grade point average, and positive recommendations from their teachers in order to apply. Teens applying must be mature, dependable, and capable of working with minimal supervision. Application packets may be picked up at the Patient Information Desk or Volunteer Services at UNC Lenoir Health Care. Students may also request an application packet to be mailed by calling 252-522-7006. Application packets may be downloaded at unclenoir.org, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the Volunteer tab. Select Summer Student Program and under Student Selection Process click on download application packet. Applications are due April 9th!
