I will also be hosting another FAFSA night on October 26th at 6pm in Spanish.
For those of you that may not know, FAFSA stands for "Free Application for Federal Student Aid" and is the best resource for your child to receive financial aid from the colleges they are applying to (This includes Community College). During our FAFSA night, she will be providing an informational session as well as providing some time on computers in order for you and your child to start the FAFSA.
If you would like to start the FAFSA you need these things in order to complete:
- Your Social Security Number (Student and Parents)
- Your federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned. (Note: You may be able to transfer your federal tax return information into your FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool.)
- Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)
- Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
- An FSA ID to sign electronically
- Please click on the above link to create an FSA ID before FAFSA night. Both the student and parent need one. If you have already created an FSA ID with another student, you do not need to create another one.
