These awards are given out each year to students who have proven themselves exceptional leaders in combating intolerance, prejudice and injustice in their communities.
The scholarship awards are available to high school seniors in the United States who are attending a four year college in the fall of 2016. Seniors, if you consider yourself a student leader who has proven yourself committed to social justice and who fights for equality in your community, you are encouraged to apply.
Students must submit a 1,000-word personal essay and two supporting letters of recommendation that highlight their work in the community and exhibit their commitment to achieving lasting change.
Applications are accepted online and must be submitted by February 19, 2016.
Past winners of these awards have helped to change legislation, have started or run non-profit organizations, and have written books or created documentaries.
