The Taylor and Katlyn Humphrey Scholarship application is now available. If you are interested in applying, please see the application below. Please note that none of these scholarships come through the regional advisor or myself but go directly to the colleges/university and they each have their own deadline. NCCF Disaster Relief & Resilience Scholarship is now available for students in LCPS District. Students can receive up to $5,000 (Applied to undergraduate study only for a maximum of four years.) This is a NEW scholarship opportunity intended to support students affected by Hurricane Matthew. Eligible students are attending or planning to attend a 2-year or 4-year institution of higher learning in the immediately following year and resided in one of the following NC towns when Hurricane Matthew occurred:
Applicants will be considered based on the severity of the impact of the disaster on their lives, their financial need, and how they have demonstrated resilience in overcoming obstacles related to the disaster. The Cory Lawson Scholarship is now available. This scholarship will be a one time award of approximately $100.00 made payable to the student's college. The winner will be announced at Awards Day. The nominee must be: 1. A graduating senior (Band members are given special consideration, but band members are not guaranteed to receive the scholarship). 2. Planning to continue their education at a 4 year college, junior/community college or technical institute. If the winner of this scholarship fails to matriculate at the college, all funds will be returned to the scholarship fund. Applications are due in the Counseling Office on or before April 20, 2018
The Cora Thompson Scholarship is now available. This scholarship will be a one time award of $100.00 made payable to the student's college. Recipient will be announced at Awards Day. Nominees must be graduating seniors in the top 25% of the class who plan to continue their education at a 4 year college, junior/community college or technical institute. The must exemplify qualities of scholarship leadership and devotion to South Lenoir High School. If the winner of this scholarship fails to matriculate at the college, all funds will be returned to the scholarship fund. Applications are due in the Counseling Office on or before April 20, 2018.
The Kinston Civitan Club is once again offering one scholarship to a graduating senior in the amount of $200.00. The application is attached. Please provide copies to graduating seniors. Questions about the scholarship may be directed to Mary Williams at 252-523-3496. Thank you for your assistance.
*This is a new scholarship this year* The Jim and Rena Cauley Memorial Scholarship is valued at $1,500. This award is intended to assist the recipient in honing their knowledge, skills, and ability toward the goal of providing a life-long, sustainable, and rewarding trade or vocational career. The student should be enrolled at an accredited university or community college. The recipient should also display an appreciation of community, compassion for others, and generosity. The recipient must be planning to pursue a trade or vocational degree/career to be eligible. Completed applications are due to Mrs. Tyndall on or before Monday, April 16th.
Attached is the application for the scholarship that The Salvation Army women's auxiliary gives out every year. Please note that the deadline for this scholarship is May 4 by 12 noon.

We have a local scholarship available, and winners applications will be sent on to apply for the State EOP Scholarship.
