The Principal's Application for Senior Academic and Service Scholarship is now available. If interested in applying, please complete the attached application and submit it to Mrs. Tyndall on or before Thursday, April 28 at 3 pm. The Cory Lawson Scholarship is now available. This scholarship will be a one time award of approximately $100.00 made payable to the student's college. The winner will be announced at Awards Day. The nominee must be: 1. A graduating senior (Band members are given special consideration). 2. Planning to continue their education at a 4 year college, junior/community college or technical institute. The scholarship winner will be selected by the Scholarship Committee from applications submitted. If the winner of this scholarship fails to matriculate at the college, all funds will be returned to the scholarship fund. Completed applications must be submitted to Mrs. Tyndall in the counseling center on or before Thursday, April 28 by 3 pm.
The Cora Thompson Scholarship application is now available. This scholarship will be a one time award of approximately $100.00 made payable to the student's college. Recipient will be announced at Awards Day. The scholarship winner will be selected by the Scholarship Committee of South Lenoir High School from applications received. Nominees must be graduating seniors in the top 25% of the class who plan to continue their education at a 4 year college, junior/community college or technical institute. The must exemplify qualities of scholarship leadership and devotion to South Lenoir High School. Completed applications are due to Mrs. Tyndall in the counseling center on or before Thursday, April 28 at 3 pm.
The Taylor and Katlyn Humphrey Scholarship application is now available. Applicants must plan to t continue their education at a 2 or 4 year college, have a 3.625 or higher GPA, must have been a member of a team in at least 2 varsity sports (managers and statisticians are considered team members), and applicants must have taken honors and/or AP courses. If interested, see the attached applications. Completed applications are due to Mrs. Tyndall in the counseling center by 3 pm on Thursday, April 28th.
Attached in information and an application for the 2016 Banneker Literary and Social Club Scholarship. This scholarship is for a graduating African-American female who has applied for admission to a two-year or four-year college. Grade point average must be a minimum of 2.50, and the student must participate in extra-curricular school activities, community service and/or church. Scholarship Opportunity for CTE Students
ACTE is proud to support the Horatio Alger National Career and Technical Scholarship Program, offering 510 scholarships up to $2,500 each to students pursuing a career or technical certificate/degree at a community college. The scholarships are made possible through the Horatio Alger Endowment Fund and the generosity of Walter Scott, Jr., former chairman of the Horatio Alger Association and current president of the Horatio Alger Endowment Fund. The Lenoir County Chapter of Ducks Unlimited is offering the Natural Resources Conservation of Lenoir County Scholarship again this year to a graduating Senior who plans to study in the area of natural resources. The purpose of the NCACTE Guidance and Career Development Division Scholarship is to assist the recipient during his/her higher education by subsidizing the cost of attending a community college or university. The scholarship is available on a competitive basis to graduating high school students who have taken Career and Technical Education courses and achieved the status of a CTE completer.
