Pitt Community College is now accepting applications for the Fall 2016-Spring 2017 Ambassador Leadership Program. This program is an exclusively selected group of 10-12 students each year. These students perform service hours each week and represent PCC at official college and Foundation events. They are looking for students with outgoing personalities, professional appearance and high academic achievement (3.2 unweighted GPA or better in high school or college). Students can be current college students or high school seniors. Nominees will be screened for strong oral and written communication skills (public speaking), knowledge of the college and community, ability to make a positive impression, scheduling flexibility, access to transportation, and high level of commitment to PCC. Ambassadors must maintain full-time status and perform 3-5 hours of required service work per week in a particular area on campus. The ambassador scholarship service requirement/activities must be considered first priority in light of other work commitments — no exceptions will be made. Final acceptance into program is dependent upon final Spring semester grades. Ambassadors should be highly motivated, self-starters, great leaders, and more. We are looking for the best of the best. Ambassadors receive compensation in the form of tuition and fees and will be provided with collegiate attire to distinguish them as official college representatives. All interested applicants must complete the attached application. Applications may also be downloaded from the Pitt Community College website: www.pittcc.edu → click on Ambassadors from the "information about" drop-down menu and then click application. All applications are due February 10th and may be mailed or emailed to [email protected] Applications must be typed. For additional information, call Ashley Smith at (252) 493-7229.
