The Belk Scholars Program in Business Analytics provides high-achieving students the education and professional development to connect data to business outcomes. Possessing technical training and knowledge of the business environment sets program graduates apart in seeking rewarding careers in the burgeoning field of big data analytics. This fund provides scholarships to current seniors at a Lenoir County public high school who intend to enroll in a four-year college or university. Recipients will be chosen on the basis of having demonstrated exceptional academic performance while taking a rigorous course load, as well as having significant involvement in extracurricular activities (e.g. athletics or the arts). Some preference will be given to those attending an out-of-state institution. PLEASE NOTE: Essay should highlight how the student has taken advantage of the school’s Advanced Placement and other advanced course offerings, and should also detail the student’s demonstrated achievement and leadership experience in his/her primary extracurricular pursuits. Scholarship Amount: The scholarship will be a one-time grant of approximately $5,000 for the student’s freshman year in college. Better Business Bureau serving Eastern NC is now accepting applications for the Fall 2016 BBB Scholarships. The BBB Torch Scholarship program recognizes students who personify high ethical standards as demonstrated through leadership, community service, overall personal integrity and academic success. Torch scholarships are awarded to college-bound high school juniors and seniors, and college undergraduates.
Scholarship prizes of $5,000 (1), $3,000 (1), and $1,000 (4) will be offered. To be eligible, students must submit an essay of 1,000 words or less, along with an application, transcript, and a letter of recommendation from a BBB Accredited Business (you can check out a list of Accredited Businesses at bbb.org/raleigh-durham/accredited-business-directory/).
