Sandy Bottom Volunteer Fire and Rescue want to give deserving High School seniors an opportunity to excel past their K-12 educations. Both of our scholarships are in honor of two men that served our community in a selfless fashion. The families of these men and our Fire Department want to keep their memories alive by watching the recipients become successful in their careers. The Banneker Literary and Social Club Scholarship is now available for graduating African-American females who have applied for admission to a two-year community/technical college or four-year college or university. Fayetteville State University reached out and asked could we share information on a specific scholarship opportunity for students from a Tier 1 or 2 County in Eastern NC. You’re in one of these 34 counties. Selection criteria includes the following:
· A first-time-freshmen or transfer student (2023-2024) · Must reside on campus · Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 If awarded the Bronco Scholarship, students will receive: · 4-year renewable scholarships covering unmet need · A laptop computer to help meet your digital needs · Support from a career coach who will help you with career planning, internships, and job placement after graduation. (NCHBECF) will award up to eight $1,000 scholarships to community college or technical school students in each of NCHBA’s eight regions. Scholarships will be awarded to students who are entering a program considered to be a skilled trade in the construction industry (i.e., carpentry, welding, plumbing, electrical, masonry, etc.). Second year students are also eligible.
Importantly, eligible students do not have to be related to an NCHBA member nor do they have to be nominated by one; however, those recommended by or related to an NCHBA member will receive preference. Attached you will find the scholarship application as well as the eight different regions in North Carolina. The Pink Hill Ruritan Club Scholarship is now available. Please see the attachment below for the application and eligibility criteria. Applicants must live in the Pink Hill school district. Completed applications are due to Mrs. Tyndall in the counseling center on or before Friday, April 21st at 3pm.
Attached is the application for Alpha Delta Kappa (ADK) Nu Chapter education scholarship. This scholarship is for students who plan on becoming a teacher, or entering the field of education. Completed applications must be mailed and are to be postmarked by April 10th. Late applications will not be accepted.
