Attached is the Adam Ryan Howard Scholarship. This scholarship is for any Lenoir County volunteer firefighter. The application is due by April 1 to Deep Run Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 71, Deep Run, NC 28525.

The Eunice Riggins Memorial Scholarship is open to any young woman who is currently graduating from an accredited public high school in North Carolina and who expects to enroll in a four-year college or university in North Carolina next fall. Specific eligibility requirements are: Academic rank in top 10% of class, good character and participation in extracurricular activities (school and community). The Mary Rose Mills-Linda Rankin Memorial Scholarship is open to any student who is currently graduating from an accredited public high school in North Carolina and who expects to enroll in a four-year college or university next fall. Specific eligibility requirements are: Academic rank in top 20% of class, good character and participation in extracurricular activities (school and community). Financial need is not the primary consideration. (Samples of talent are required to be submitted with the application.) Another scholarship sponsored by our organization is the North Carolina Alpha Delta Kappa Student Achievement Scholarship. It is also for $2000 and is open to a male or female, on track to graduate and planning to attend a 2-year or 4-year college or university. Specific eligibility requirements are: SAT score of 990 to 1130 or ACT composite score of 20 to 24; unweighted GPA of 2.5 to 3.5; good character, integrity, leadership potential and service to school, community and church. Students should apply for this scholarship through the North Carolina Community Foundation at www.nccommunityfoundation.org . Current seniors at a Lenoir County public high school who intend to enroll in a four-year college or university. Recipients will be chosen on the basis of having demonstrated exceptional academic performance while taking a rigorous course load, as well as having significant involvement in extracurricular activities (e.g. athletics or the arts). PLEASE NOTE: Essay should highlight how the student has taken advantage of the school's Advanced Placement and other advanced course offerings, and should also detail the student's demonstrated achievement and leadership experience in his/her primary extracurricular pursuits. Applications are due Friday, April 16 and can be accessed by clicking below: Joyce Price Johnson’s Samaritan Fund Today's #moneymonday scholarship is the Leo W. & Alberta V. Thomas Utz Scholarship. There are actually 3 scholarships to choose from based on your major of interest. If you are interested in majoring in English, Math or Science then I recommend you apply to the appropriate one. You must have a minimum 3.25 GPA (unweighted). The amount is $4,000 per year, renewable upon good standing in your college courses.
